Our verdict. Mintos stocks are a low-cost way to buy fractional shares in euros from €1, with no Mintos fee to buy, hold or sell. The product is new, so we would treat it as a promising addition rather than a full replacement for an established stock broker.
- 4,000+ stocks from €1. Mintos lists more than 4,000 of the most traded US, European and global stocks, bought as a euro amount through fractional shares.
- No Mintos fee to buy, hold or sell. Mintos says it charges no order, custody or withdrawal fees on stocks, and adds no FX charge.
- Investment plans for every stock. You can invest a set amount weekly, monthly or quarterly in any stock on the platform.
- Euro pricing does not remove currency risk. A US share priced in euros still moves with the euro to dollar exchange rate.
- Regulated in Latvia. AS Mintos Marketplace is licensed and supervised by Latvijas Banka, with investor compensation up to €20,000.
- Limit orders are not live yet. Mintos lists them as coming soon.
Mintos started as a loan marketplace and has spent the last year turning into a multi-asset investment account. On 13 October 2026 it added stock investing, with more than 4,000 stocks from €1, no Mintos fee to buy, hold or sell, and no FX charge because stocks are priced in euros.
That pricing puts Mintos in the same conversation as Trading 212, XTB and Lightyear for small, regular stock purchases. The trade-offs are the age of the product, the lack of limit orders at launch and the currency risk that euro pricing can make easy to overlook.
This review is based on Mintos's public stocks page, its order execution policy and the official fee pages of the brokers we compare. All figures were checked on 14 October 2026. We have not placed a stock order in a Mintos account, so nothing here reflects first-hand testing of the order flow.

Strengths and drawbacksMintos stocks pros and cons
- No Mintos trading charge. No order, custody or withdrawal fee on stocks.
- No FX charge. Stocks trade in euros, so Mintos adds no conversion fee.
- Small starting amount. Fractional investing starts at €1.
- Automation. Investment plans are available for every stock, weekly, monthly or quarterly.
- One account. Stocks sit alongside ETFs, bonds, loans, real estate, crypto ETPs and Smart Cash.
- No limit orders yet. They are listed as coming soon, so orders at launch fill at the market price.
- Currency risk. Stocks of non-euro companies carry currency risk even when priced in euros.
- New product. Stocks launched on 13 October 2026, so there is no track record yet.
- Smaller range. 4,000+ stocks is fewer than some established brokers. Lightyear, for example, advertises 6,000+.
Who are Mintos stocks best for?
Mintos stocks suit European investors who want to build a stock portfolio in small euro amounts, especially through a regular investment plan, and who like having several asset classes in one account.
They suit less well investors who need limit or stop orders today, want access to smaller or less liquid companies, or prefer to hold US shares in US dollars to manage currency exposure themselves.
Mintos stock fees
Checked against Mintos on 14 October 2026.
Mintos says there are no Mintos commissions to buy or sell stocks and no ongoing holding, custody or inactivity fees. It also notes that the usual market price differences may still apply and that any occasional third-party costs would be communicated. Other fees may apply.
An individual stock has no annual management fee, because there is no fund involved. That is one practical difference from ETFs, which carry an ongoing charge inside the fund price.
Order experienceHow investing in stocks on Mintos works
You choose a stock, enter a euro amount and Mintos buys the matching fractional share. The minimum amount per order is shown on each stock page before you confirm.
According to the Mintos order execution policy, orders are executed on Tradegate Exchange. Limit orders, which let you set a target buy or sell price, are listed as coming soon.
Mintos says its stock selection focuses on companies listed on major regulated exchanges with enough trading volume and reliable, continuously available pricing.
Investment plans for stocks
Mintos lets you choose a stock, set an amount and pick a weekly, monthly or quarterly frequency. The plan then invests on schedule without reminders. Mintos says this is available for every stock on the platform.
For investors building a position over time, a regular plan also spreads purchases across different prices, which can soften the effect of buying everything on a single day. It does not remove the risk of losses. Our guide to dollar-cost averaging explains the trade-offs.
Currency risk on euro-priced stocks
Mintos prices stocks in euros, so you never see a currency conversion when you buy a US share. That does not make the investment a euro investment.
Mintos states that stocks of companies whose base currency is not the euro are exposed to currency risk, even when priced in euros. If you hold a US company and the dollar weakens against the euro, the euro value of your holding can fall even when the share price in dollars is unchanged. The reverse is also true.
The practical point is that "no FX charge" is a cost statement, not a risk statement. You save the conversion fee, but exchange rate movements still affect your return.
ComparisonMintos vs Trading 212, XTB and Lightyear
Checked on 14 October 2026. Trading 212 figures checked on 8 October 2026.
Other fees may apply at every broker. Fees vary by country, entity and order size. See our Trading 212 review and Lightyear review for full fee breakdowns.
How Mintos compares in practice
On cost alone, Mintos and Trading 212 both remove the dealing commission. The difference shows up in currency: Mintos adds no FX charge on euro-priced stocks, while Trading 212 lists 0.15%, XTB lists 0.5% and Lightyear lists 0.35% when a conversion applies.
Trading 212, XTB and Lightyear are established stock brokers with fuller order types and longer track records. Mintos is the newer option, and its strongest argument is combining stocks with ETFs, bonds, loans and real estate in one euro account.

LimitationsWhat to keep in mind
- No limit orders at launch. Mintos lists them as coming soon.
- Currency risk. Euro pricing hides, but does not remove, exposure to the dollar and other currencies.
- New product. Stocks launched on 13 October 2026.
- Selection rules. Mintos focuses on liquid companies on major exchanges, so smaller companies may not be available.

AssessmentOur verdict
Mintos stocks offer a clean, low-cost way to buy fractional shares in euros, with no Mintos fee to buy, hold or sell and an investment plan for every stock. For existing Mintos users, or anyone who wants stocks, ETFs and bonds in one euro account, it is worth a look.
The boundaries are clear at launch: no limit orders yet, a shorter track record than established brokers and currency risk that euro pricing does not remove. Investors who trade actively or need wider order types may still prefer Trading 212, XTB or Lightyear.
